Dr Olubiyi is 63-year-old Nigerian, who currently works with Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Victoria Island, Lagos as a Chief Lecturer. He joined the College in 1991 and rose through the rank progressively.
He had his early fisheries training from the College in 1985, then progressed to River State University of Science and Technology, Portharcourt, in 1998, Federal University of Technology Akure in 2004 and Pukyong National University, Busan, South Korea in 2014 where he obtained his PhD in Fisheries Science.
He has managed three private farms in Oyo and Osun state before joining the College as a lecturer. Besides his lecturing activities, he currently manages the College fish farm at Igbo Olomi, near Dangote refinery, Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos State. He invested personally in the fish cage culture at Ebute Afuye, Epe, where he raises Tilapia, Pangasius, and Brama species. He will lead field implementation for Case Study A (Tilapia) within the Waqf Aquaculture Program.
Mr. Samson Agun is an experienced aquaculture technician with over 15 years of practical expertise in catfish and tilapia production, covering hatchery, nursery, and grow-out operations. He has worked across multiple farms in Lagos and Southwest Nigeria, developing strong technical competence in broodstock management, fish seed production, water quality control, and farm operations.
Samson has extensive hands-on experience in spawning, injection, stripping, fry management, grading, sorting, feed planning, and disease observation. His background includes leading hatchery routines, preparing spawning vats, managing processors, and coordinating expansion projects. He is known for maintaining clean production records, ensuring consistent feeding schedules, and monitoring fish health indicators to achieve strong survival rates and predictable harvest outcomes.
Over the years, he has served in roles with Aquatech Farms, Lehae Farms, and Hkap Farms, where he was responsible for daily feeding, water quality checks, hatchery maintenance, and preparing fish seed for sales and grow-out. His responsibilities also extended to packaging, handling clients, supervising farm labour, and maintaining good hygiene protocols across facilities.
Samson holds a National Diploma in Accountancy from Lagos State Polytechnic as well as a Fisheries & Agriculture Training Certificate from the Lagos State Agricultural Training Institute. He brings a disciplined, results-driven approach to aquaculture operations and will lead field implementation for Case Study B (Catfish) within the Waqf Aquaculture Program.
